The Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) is responsible for maximizing the sale of parts and service capabilities by calling on customers in an assigned territory. You must demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions inan efficient manner.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Promotes and sells Caterpillar equipment parts and company service capabilities; inspects customer equipment; develops/delivers proposals and estimates; develops and sells maintenance contracts
- Prepare territory coverage call plan, manage sales opportunities and sales activity reports
- Receives customer orders, serves as the customer contact point, and occasionally assists in the education of customer base on parts and service programs/initiatives
- Collaborates with other departments to provide exceptional customer service
- Work diligently to achieve desired results as defined on Sales Scorecard, focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service
- Work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment building relationships within the team, customers, vendors, and community organizations
Requirements
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 2-5 years related experience and/or training;
- Preferable experience in Caterpillar or competitor product support sales
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and interpret written, verbal, and diagram instructions and memos.
- Excellent listening skills to absorb information and apply lessons-learned from customer feedback.
- Strong cooperative attitude to encourage and facilitate relationships with other employees and customers.
- Driven, ambitious, goal-setting and achieving outlook to establish and pursue goals, including calculated risks.
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must be a Self-starter able to work with limited supervision; capable of setting priorities, and implementing ideas in a timely manner.
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Able to service existing customers with scheduled visits and effectively prospect potential new customers.
- Must be innovative and creative; able to quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions.
- Strong PC skills and adapt to changing technology.
- Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to travel and work hours required by the job; a clean driving record and valid driver's license are required.

Required travel is up to 100%. This is an outside sales position which may require some overnight stays depending on territory needs (average 1-5/mo).
