Job Highlights

The Head of Process Engineering is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the Process Engineering teams across all South Arkansas sites. The position also oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide Process Engineering teams across four South Arkansas sites.
  • Set and execute the strategic vision for site performance improvements, focusing on raw material yields, production rates, and ROI.
  • Drive technological advancements to enhance profitability, efficiency, capacity, and quality while minimizing capital expenditures (CAPEX).
  • Develop, implement, and manage PSM programs and systems across all sites.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical solutions and safety calculations to support safe process operations.
  • Ensure stable, safe, and reliable plant operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and task forces in response to safety or environmental incidents and production disruptions.
  • Oversee and support the deployment of capital projects by reviewing technical concepts and providing expert engineering assessments.
  • Prioritize and manage improvement initiatives, including those leading to Capital Engineering projects.
  • Direct process improvement research and investigations carried out by the Process Support Lab (PSL).
  • Drive the implementation of next-generation processes aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage all process engineering, drafting, and process support lab functions to improve plant safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support business units with engineering solutions to meet legal production requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) are preferred and considered an advantage.
  • Significant experience in the chemical industry, with broad and deep competence in Process Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a technical role with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong capability in developing engineering solutions for complex process systems.
  • Advanced skills in modeling and simulation software.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in leading diverse teams and driving performance through technical and operational excellence.
  • Multidisciplinary Engineering Knowledge including: Conceptual Process Design & Benchmarking; Fluid and Solid Processing; Process Modeling & Control; Operations Support & Safety
