Summary
The Safety Manager is a strategic leader responsible for fostering a world-class safety culture through proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness. This role drives continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement to ensure every individual works safely and confidently.
Responsibilities
--Develop and execute the site's strategic safety plan aligned with regulations and corporate goals.
--Lead safety culture transformation and promote hazard recognition, stop-work authority, and accountability.
--Serve as liaison with OSHA, DOT, DHS, and local emergency agencies.
--Oversee programs such as Behavior-Based Safety, Job Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Permitting, and contractor safety.
--Monitor performance metrics, conduct investigations, and lead root cause analyses.
--Manage emergency response planning, fire protection readiness, training, and crisis leadership.
--Collaborate on safety training, corporate initiatives, and resource allocation.
Qualifications
--Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
--10+ years of progressive safety leadership in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
--Proven experience implementing strategic safety and Behavior-Based Safety programs.
--Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and DHS regulations.
--CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
--Expertise in emergency response, fire systems, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
